Renner had mega-hit singles and bagging awards under the record label.

Ghanaian Dancehall diva, Renner, decided it was time to leave Gymoff Hitfactory Ghana after two years of being with them. In 2016, the dancehall act released her debut single with GHG Records, the official copyright owners of her songs. Her first single sold more than 1.5 million copies which earned her best female vocalist 2016 / 2017 at the central music awards (CMA).

In a post on Instagram, the Central-born artist officially announced, stating that her long-term contract has expired.

“I Mercy Nana Efua Renner, with stage name RENNER, would like to announce to the general public, music lovers, fans and loved ones that after a successful meeting held between myself and my management, we have decided to amicably part ways hence I am therefore not under GHG’s management anymore.

“I want to use this medium to say a very big thank you to my former managers GHG for a very good job done on my brand. I will forever be grateful.”

“I will also like to express my appreciation to everybody who helped my former team one way or the other in building the brand RENNER.”

“My special and final thanks go to lovers of my music. I want to assure you that I am putting in works to enable me to continue serving you with very good music.”

The label also stated this morning in a press release;

“Gymoff Hitfactory Ghana (GHG would like to officially state there was no successful meeting held, we were ambushed by her desire to leave without valid reason. The only meeting organized was an unofficial one held by Fiifi Cudjoe in our Studios to try to solve issues because he was one of the few people who began with us. We put an offer before her to go for her European tour which was scheduled for March to April this year and then we can part ways but she refused.
So officially we want to state that there was no official meeting, nothing was amicable or successful and we feel disrespected as a brand after both parties agreed not to put out official statements.
We would officially come out and say our part at the right time.
Signed @Yaw Boadu – (NYB) Business Manager, Gymoff Hitfactory Ghana (GHG)”

Regardless of her current label situation, Renner is confident a solo single will be ready “hopefully toward the end of the year.” She adds, “There are so many artists that I would love to work with and are in the process of hopefully set up collaborations with and vice versa.”
